West Nassau High Building Construction & Technology
West Nassau High School students in Brett Green’s Building Construction & Technology classes are earning their NCCER Core Industry Certifications this semester. NCCER is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) education foundation created in 1996 as The National Center for Construction Education and Research. It was developed with the support of more than 125 construction CEOs and various association and academic leaders who united to revolutionize training for the construction industry. Students gained knowledge in areas such as Basic Construction Site Safety, Construction Math, Introduction to Hand and Power Tools, Construction Drawings, Communication and Employment Skills and Material Handling. Students then participated in project-based learning by drawing plans and constructing bird houses. Industry certified students pictured are Erin Phelan, Lexi Mosley, Madison Newton, Mason Hartley, Christian Daly, Dylan Guting, Brayden Garrett, Damien Rose, Deagan Manasco and Brandon Miller. Congratulations! Now on to Carpentry Level 1.
