The Nassau County School District announces that Bryceville Elementary School has been recognized as a 2024 National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education. This honor recognizes Bryceville Elementary’s exemplary academic performance and commitment to closing achievement gaps among student groups.
Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Kathy Burns, Bryceville Elementary Principal Tammy Smith, and dedicated teacher Pam Ploegert represented the school and district at the National Blue Ribbon Schools Program Award Ceremony in Washington, D.C., on November 7-8, 2024. This annual event highlights the accomplishments of schools nationwide that demonstrate excellence in education.
Bryceville Elementary is among 356 schools across the United States recognized for their dedication to fostering an environment where students thrive academically and socially. These schools serve as models of effective practices, inspiring educators and communities.
The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program, established in 1982 by then-Secretary of Education Terrel H. Bell, highlights top-performing schools and shares best practices. Awardees represent diverse communities across the country and are celebrated for achieving high academic standards or making significant progress in closing achievement gaps.
