Remembering 9/11 | 25th Anniversary

Today, our Warriors took time to learn, reflect, and remember the events of September 11, 2001. ❤️🤍💙

Through age-appropriate lessons and activities, students across grade levels and classes learned about the courage, compassion, and selflessness shown by so many on that day. Ms. Hooper’s class honored Welles Crowther, “The Man in the Red Bandana,” and learned how one person’s bravery and willingness to help others can make an incredible difference.

As we mark the 25th anniversary of September 11, we remember the lives lost, honor the heroes and first responders, and reflect on the strength and unity shown by our nation. All students and staff wore a sticker to remember this day. Thank you to Mrs. Butler for the donation of the stickers.

Please help us celebrate Cooper Higginbotham, our September Artist of the Month at Callahan Intermediate School! 🏆🎉

Cooper created an incredible Dale Chihuly-inspired 3D art piece titled “Ice Cream Galore.” 🍦🌈 He designed and painted his artwork in 2D before using heat to transform it into an amazing 3D sculpture!

Cooper didn’t just put his artistic skills to work—he also connected ART + SCIENCE by applying his knowledge of thermal shape morphing during the creative process. 🧪🎨

Way to think outside the canvas, Cooper! We are so proud of your creativity, hard work, and willingness to explore how art and science can come together! 💜💛

Another week, another group of amazing Warriors to celebrate! ❤️💛 Our Week 2 Warrior Praise recipients were recognized for showing what it means to be Respectful, Responsible, and Safe throughout our school.

🎨 As part of their recognition, each student added their very own self-portrait to our “Ropin’ in Success with the Greatest Students in the West” display! Their portraits will stay up all year long, and we LOVE watching our wall grow with the faces of students making positive choices! They also got to select a prize from the Warrior Cart.

Ms.Simmons explains the prize choices to four students gathered around a cart filled with treats, toys, and colorful supplies. The students prepare to select rewards in celebration of their positive behavior and accomplishments.

August 18th,Tuesday: FAST Math PM1 testing Tuesday. We will start right at 7:50. Please ensure your student is on time. Once testing begins, students must remain on campus until they have completed their assessment. We kindly ask that you avoid scheduling early checkouts on Tuesday. From reconnecting with friends and learning new routines to settling into classrooms and Riding the Warrior Way, our students and staff made this first week one to remember. And after a busy first week, we made sure our incredible staff headed into the weekend with one less thing to worry about—TAKE & BAKE pizzas to take home! 🍕❤️ Because after giving their all to our Warriors this week, dinner should be easy! 🌵 One Team.
