Spring Break begins for Nassau County School District students!
Friday is a teacher planning day, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday, March 23, 2026.

Good afternoon Rambler families,
Earlier this afternoon a bomb threat was called in to the Nassau County Sheriff’s Department related to Callahan Middle School. The Sheriff immediately relayed this information to the school where we moved into a “SECURE” status. In a “SECURE” status, everyone on campus goes inside a building, locks all outside doors, and continues with business as usual until cleared.
The Nassau County Sheriff’s Department was on-site within minutes and took over the investigation.
At this time the “SECURE” status has been lifted and we are operating business as usual.
Students on the 6th grade Zoo Field Trip will be dropped off at WNHS where they will be collected by their parents or catch the bus.
Regular dismissal for all other students will take place AT CMS, as usual. Any parents who have reported to the Fair Grounds should come to CMS.
Thank you for your patience as we worked with our law enforcement partners to ensure the safety of everyone on campus.

Congratulations to our February Ramblers of the Month! These students were selected by their teachers as outstanding examples of February's Resiliency Characteristic of the Month- Perseverance! 6th grade: Cypress Lebline and Keaton Johns, 7th grade: Phoebe Dixon and Jack Carter, and 8th grade: Kerrigan Hudson and Grayson Mendez-McElreath. Thank you also to #Zaxbys for recognizing these awards with a free meal!
The CMS chapter of All Pro Dads will meet on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 8:10 am. Please sign in and out through the front office to attend. We hope to see you there!
There will be a Spring Football Interest Meeting on Monday, March 2, 2026, from 3:30- 4:30 PM. Parent pickup at 4:30 PM.
CMS cheer tryouts are coming! In order to attend, all athletes must have an up-to-date Athletic Packet on file. Important dates include:
Athletic Packet due: March 11
Season Interest Meeting: March 10, 5:00- 5:30 PM
Tryout Parent Meeting: March 23, 5:00- 5:30 PM
Cheer Clinics: March 26, 30, April 2, 6- 3:45- 5:30 PM
Tryouts: April 9
*All dates are required in order to attend tryouts*
Current 7th grade students are invited to join us on a Spring Break Washington DC trip in March of 2027! There will be an informational meeting held in the Media Center on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at 5:30 pm.
CMS 8th graders are invited to participate in Career Shadow Day!

Part II: Ramblers were busy in January! Four students represented CMS at the District Honor Band. One student represented Nassau County at the State Honor Band! A number of our gifted artists participated in the Train Depot Art Show. Ramblers are showing the world how it's done!
Ramblers were busy in the month of January! WNHS students in the Vystar program visited Mr. Hearn's Career and Technical Education classes to share the program with students and encourage those who are interested in signing up. The Beta Club volunteers spent a day doing community service around the Callahan community.
