The Nassau County School District is proud to announce that nine of its schools have been designated as 2024-2025 Florida Schools of Excellence by the Florida Department of Education.

The honor was awarded to:

  • Callahan Intermediate School

  • Callahan Middle School

  • Emma Love Hardee Elementary School

  • Fernandina Beach High School

  • Fernandina Beach Middle School

  • Hilliard Elementary School

  • Yulee Middle School

The Schools of Excellence program, established by the Florida Legislature in 2017, recognizes schools that demonstrate sustained academic success. To qualify, schools must rank in the 80th percentile or higher in their grade-level groupings (elementary, middle, high, or combination) for at least two of the past three years, based on the state’s school grade calculation

Dr. Kathy Knight Burns, Superintendent of Schools, stated, “We are incredibly proud of our Schools of Excellence. This designation reflects the hard work happening every day in our classrooms and reinforces Nassau County’s commitment to academic excellence for all students.”
