Important Updates Regarding Smoke Conditions, Transportation, and Attendance

The Nassau County School District continues to closely monitor smoke conditions and road accessibility related to active fires in and around Nassau County, including potential impacts to our school campuses.

At this time, schools will operate on the scheduled half-day for students on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. All operations are being evaluated on a day-to-day basis as conditions may change.

If road closures occur, bus service will not be available in affected areas.

Students who are absent due to fire-related conditions, including smoke, road closures, or other safety concerns, will have their absences excused. Upon return, families are asked to provide a note to the school to document the absence.

The district will continue to provide updates as conditions evolve.
