The Nassau County School District is proud to announce that six schools have been recognized as Florida’s MTSS Recognized Schools – Improvement Award recipients for the 2024–2025 school year.

The following schools earned the award:

  • Bryceville Elementary School

  • Callahan Elementary School

  • Callahan Intermediate School

  • Southside Elementary School

  • Wildlight Elementary School

  • Yulee Primary School

This prestigious honor recognizes schools that demonstrate measurable progress in their Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) to improve student achievement.

To qualify for the Improvement Award, schools must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Achieve a minimum of 10% improvement in the identified focus area (ELA or Math) learning gains from the previous year; or

  • Ensure that at least 60% of the lowest-performing 25% of students in the identified focus area demonstrate learning gains.

These schools have demonstrated a commitment to continuous improvement by strengthening systems of support, promoting equity, and creating opportunities for all students to achieve academic success.

The Florida Department of Education’s Problem Solving/Response to Intervention Project (PS/RtI) oversees the MTSS Recognized Schools program, which highlights schools across the state that are leading the way in implementing effective academic supports.
