The Nassau County School District has been designated a 2024–25 Academically High-Performing School District by the Florida Department of Education.
Nassau County is one of only 10 districts statewide to receive the recognition, which is awarded annually by the State Board of Education.
The designation is based on district and school grades for 2024–25, compliance with class size requirements, and financial audit reports from 2023–24.
The Academically High-Performing School District program was created in 2007 under Section 1003.621, Florida Statutes, to recognize districts that consistently demonstrate excellence in academics, operations and financial management.
“This recognition is a reflection of the outstanding work of our students, teachers, administrators, staff and families,” said Dr. Kathy Burns, superintendent of Nassau County Schools. “The Nassau County School District remains committed to academic excellence, continuous improvement and preparing every student for success.”
The district continues to be ranked among Florida’s top A-rated school systems, with a focus on high achievement, strong leadership and student growth.
