EXPECT DELAYS: Our First Time Bus Riders Are Learning the Way 🚌
The first few weeks of school are an exciting time, especially for our youngest students and first time bus riders. As drivers, schools, and families help students learn their routes, pickup and drop-off times may take a little longer than usual.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as everyone settles into a safe and successful routine.

Want to know where your child's bus is? Track it in real time using our bus tracking app: https://www.nassau.k12.fl.us/o/ncsd/page/bus-tracking-apps

Thank you for partnering with us to help make the first days of school a great experience for every student.

📢 Important Check-Out Reminder for Parents & Guardians

To help us maintain a safe and secure campus, students may not be checked out over the phone. All student check-outs must be completed in person by a parent or guardian presenting a valid photo ID.

Thank you for your partnership in helping us keep our students safe. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we begin the 2026–2027 school year.

We will also review this procedure during orientation.

📢 Attendance Matters at West Nassau High School!

Regular attendance is one of the most important factors in student success. As we prepare for the 2026–2027 school year, we encourage all students and families to review our Attendance Highlights, including important information about parent notes, tardies, early check-outs, attendance expectations, and eligibility for extracurricular activities.

We will also review these expectations during orientation to help ensure everyone starts the year informed and prepared.

Thank you for partnering with us to support student success every day.

WCAG Alt Text: West Nassau High School “Attendance Highlights” infographic with a white background and maroon and gold accents. The graphic outlines key attendance expectations for the 2026–2027 school year, including: 15 parent notes per school year (not valid for excusing tardies); students must bring a parent’s note to the attendance office before school for early checkouts; one free tardy is allowed each nine weeks before progressive discipline begins; driving privileges are revoked after five tardies in a nine-week period or when attendance falls below 90%. The infographic explains that students must attend at least 90% of their total class periods to participate in extracurricular activities, parking privileges, social events, dances, and other after-school activities. It clarifies that this is an attendance policy, not an excused versus unexcused absence policy, and lists allowable exceptions including documented medical appointments, court subpoenas, bereavement for an immediate family member, school-sponsored activities, pre-approved college visits, and parent-approved absences. It reminds students to submit required documentation within three school days and notes that student-athletes must maintain a 90% attendance rate each semester to remain eligible. Contact information for the attendance office is provided: 904-879-3416, extension 3613, and repoffme1@nassau.k12.fl.us. The graphic includes the West Nassau High School seal and the slogan, “One Tribe. One Vision. One West Nassau.”

✅ Hall pass expectations and incentives
✅ Morning detention schedule
✅ Other important updates for the new school year

We will also review these procedures during student and parent orientation, so everyone starts the year informed and prepared.

Vertical West Nassau High School informational flyer titled “Procedures Have Changed for the 2026–2027 School Year.” The flyer explains five important updates for students and families. Parents and guardians must present a government-issued ID at the Raptor kiosk every time they check a student out. Student checkouts end at 3:15 p.m. on regular school days and 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday early release days. Students receive 40 hall passes per quarter, and those who use 20 or fewer earn an incentive redeemable with a teacher of their choice. Morning detention will replace lunch detention and will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The flyer also notes that these changes are intended to strengthen campus safety, improve accountability, protect instructional time, and encourage responsible decision-making. The design features West Nassau’s maroon, gold, and white school colors with matching icons and the message, “Thank you for helping us keep our school safe, accountable, and focused!”
