Congratulations to our amazing 5th graders! We recently celebrated their hard work and commitment to making positive choices as they officially graduated from the D.A.R.E. program.

Throughout this journey, these students have learned invaluable lessons about decision-making, staying safe, and being responsible citizens. We are so proud of the dedication they’ve shown and the leaders they are becoming.

A huge thank you to our D.A.R.E. instructor, Officer Baughan, for her mentorship and support!

📚 From Abstract Art to Hand-Bound Books! >
Our 3rd graders have officially become authors and bookbinders. This week, they combined art history with hands-on engineering to create custom journals. The process was intense:

🎨 Step 1: Learning abstract brushstrokes and analogous color harmony.
✨ Step 2: Adding texture with salt and saran wrap.
♻️ Step 3: Sustainability! We upcycled hard-pressed boards from our bulk drawing notebooks to create durable covers.
🐈 Step 4: Personalizing with everything from traditional Japanese writing to kittens and superheroes!

Each book is finished with a hand-picked ribbon. We are so proud of these young creators!

March is #ArtsInSchoolsMonth, and our 5th graders are taking "let them eat cake" to a whole new level! 🎨🍰

Under the guidance of Ms. Barnes, these young artists transformed simple cardboard shapes into tiered masterpieces. The secret to their success? A multi-step process involving:

📐 Engineering bases from triangles, rectangles, and squares.

🛡️ "Weatherproofing" with aluminum foil.

🎭 Layering fabric and a custom paper-mâché blend (yes—that’s toilet paper, glue, and paint!).

We are so proud of their hard work and creativity! Which "flavor" is your favorite? 👇
