From a lump of clay to a finished creation, our Yulee High School ceramics students are learning that art takes imagination, patience, skill, and a willingness to get your hands a little messy! 🏺
Our arts classrooms provide students with opportunities to explore their creativity, develop new skills, and express themselves in unique ways. Thanks to the support of our community through millage funding, our ceramics class was able to purchase a kiln, allowing students to fire their work and bring their creations to life.
We love seeing the creativity that makes One Epic Sound so special at Yulee High School!

The Yulee High School Band is a place where students come together to learn, grow, collaborate, and create One Epic Sound. From brass and woodwinds to percussion, our students are developing their musical skills while building confidence, discipline, and teamwork.
We are especially grateful for the support of our community through millage funding, which has helped provide percussion instruments and expand opportunities for our students to learn and perform.
When our community invests in the arts, our students have more opportunities to find their voice—and their sound. 🎵
Thank you for helping make the arts a part of the Yulee High School experience!

One Epic Sound. That’s what happens when everyone brings their part, works together, and supports one another.
Today, we’re celebrating the power of collaboration and recognizing four educators who truly exemplify what it means to be Better Together:
👏 Ms. Gilbert & Ms. Elliott
👏 Ms. King & Ms. Meyer
These educators demonstrate that when we share ideas, support one another, and work as a team, we create something stronger than any one person could create alone.
Their collaboration adds to One Epic Sound at Yulee High School—and reminds us that every voice matters, every contribution matters, and together, we are better. 💚💛
Congratulations on being Buzz Worthy! 🐝

There’s nothing like Friday night under the lights! We’re looking forward to seeing our students, families, alumni, and community members filling the stands and supporting our Hornets.
As you make your Game Day plans, please keep these reminders in mind so we can make sure everyone has a safe and positive experience:
Know Before You Go:
🐝 Adult supervision is required for middle school-age students and younger.
🐝 Leave backpacks and bags at home.
🐝 Outside food and drinks are not permitted.
🐝 Plan to stay — there is no re-entry after leaving the stadium.
Thank you for being part of the Hornet family!

Today, our students had the opportunity to get hands-on with technology during their UF/NSA AI Curriculum Lab – Sensor Exploration Stations!
Students explored how sensors “see” and collect information from the world around us using five different sensors: motion, weather, heart rate, light, and time-of-flight. 🌦️💡❤️
Working with AHA! boards, students tested sensors, observed the data they collected, and talked about how technology can take information from the world and turn it into something we can understand and use.
We love seeing our students curious, engaged, and learning by doing! Experiences like these give our students meaningful opportunities to explore technology, ask questions, and connect what they learn in the classroom to the world around them. 💚🐝

Friday, August 21 is National Fentanyl Prevention and Awareness Day.
One conversation could save a life.
Fentanyl is one of the most dangerous drugs facing our communities today. It is often hidden in counterfeit pills or mixed into counterfeit prescription medications without a person's knowledge. As this powerful video explains, one mistake can have permanent consequences.
This National Fentanyl Prevention and Awareness Day, we encourage every parent, caregiver, and student to take just a few minutes to watch this important message together and explore the free resources available for Nassau County families.
🎥 Watch the video: https://player.vimeo.com/video/925904443?h=12e0a90225
📚 Access the Family Resources on our website.
The Family Resources include:
• A Fentanyl Fact Sheet
• Parent Conversation Toolkit
• Student Online Learning Opportunity (earn 1.5 community service hours)
• Additional videos and educational resources
After watching the video, ask your child:
• What did you learn?
• Did anything surprise you?
• What would you do if someone offered you a pill that wasn't prescribed to you?
• Who are the trusted adults you can always talk to?
A few minutes of learning today could make a life-changing difference tomorrow.
Know the facts. Start the conversation. Protect your future.
