Our 3rd Grade classes had a special visit today from the Fernandina Beach Fire Department. The students were able to look around the truck, an ambulance, and visit the simulator. Thank you FBFD for taking the time to help us learn what to do if there is a fire!

💙💛 Kindness in Action at ELH! 💛💙 Our 2026–2027 5th Grade Kindness Club held its first meeting today, and our Little Pirates got right to work spreading kindness! 🏴‍☠️ Students focused on supporting the district-sponsored Adopt a Soldier initiative by creating heartfelt, personal cards and donating several boxes and bags of items to be sent overseas to our service members. 🇺🇸📦💌 We are so proud of our students for showing compassion, generosity, and gratitude for those who serve our country. Students in Ms. Emert’s class were hard at work strengthening their Unit 1 skills through targeted instruction. Using highlighters and dry-erase tools, students returned to the text to find evidence, support their thinking, and prove their answers! 🖍️✏️

💙💛 ELH is celebrating Disability History and Awareness Weeks with meaningful activities that promote understanding and inclusion!

This morning, we welcomed special guests Ms. Dagnan and Ms. Pazand, who shared the story of Louis Braille, the French educator who developed braille—a system of reading and writing for people who are blind or visually impaired. His system continues to be used around the world today!
