🎻✨ A Memorable Musical Experience for Our 2nd Graders! ✨🎻

In celebration of Arts Education Month, the 2nd grade Little Pirates at Southside Elementary had an incredible opportunity to experience the Viano Quartet through an engaging and interactive performance!

Students were able to:
🎶 Hear live violin, viola, and cello performed at a professional level
🎶 Learn how instruments in the string family work together
🎶 Experience the teamwork and energy of chamber music
🎶 Ask questions and connect with professional musicians

This inspiring program sparked curiosity, brought music education to life, and created a meaningful, memorable experience for our young learners. Opportunities like this are just right for our 2nd graders as we continue to nurture creativity and a love for the arts! 🎼💛 Thank you to the Amelia Island Chamber of Music for collaborating with our music teacher Ms. Whedon and making it happen! https://www.canva.com/design/DAHENg2MPNk/kDjnbl1ObEhYNri0BBtXGQ/view?utm_content=DAHENg2MPNk&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link2&utm_source=uniquelinks&utlId=h5fae5d71dc

🎨 The Impact of the Art Millage at Southside Elementary 🎨

The Art Millage has made a meaningful difference at Southside Elementary School. Because of this support, our students now have the opportunity to participate in a dedicated art class—an experience that allows them to explore creativity, express themselves, and develop new skills beyond the traditional classroom.

Art provides our students with a powerful outlet for imagination and problem-solving while helping build confidence and pride in their work. We have already seen how much this opportunity means to our students and families, and we are incredibly grateful for the support that made it possible.

Thank you to our community for investing in programs that enrich the educational experience for every Little Pirate! 🏴‍☠️🎨 https://www.canva.com/design/DAHDpBTL41w/8QPH7HtOWK2riub2TB3D8A/view?utm_content=DAHDpBTL41w&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link2&utm_source=uniquelinks&utlId=hb9852d67ef

💚 Kids Heart Challenge – What a Fun Finale! 💚

Our Kids Heart Challenge has officially wrapped up for the year! Yesterday was full of laughter and excitement as our top fundraisers celebrated in a big way.

Our three highest-earning classes and students earned the chance to slime Ms. Trammell and Dr. Weber, and the top three individual fundraisers even got to pie them! 🥧

A huge shoutout to Ms. LaChapelle, Ms. Ski, and Ms. Crew’s classes for their incredible efforts in raising funds. We are so proud of the dedication shown by our students and families who supported this important cause.

Not only are we helping raise money for the American Heart Association, but these funds also help us keep our PE equipment updated so our students can stay active and healthy.

Thank you to everyone who participated and made this event such a success! ❤️🏃‍♂️

💙✨ Kindness in Action in 2nd Grade! ✨💙

Our amazing 2nd graders in Ms. Cacciapouti’s class have been spreading kindness all around campus! Students began by writing thoughtful words to describe one another inside a heart — filling our classroom with positivity and encouragement. 💗

Then, they took their kindness beyond the classroom by completing random acts of kindness throughout the school! They:
• Helped Pre-K students pack up
• Read with 1st graders
• Assisted Ms. Hicks in the library
• Picked up trash on the playground
• Supported Ms. Johns and Ms. Trammell with their kindergarteners
• Helped Ms. Whedon with her instruments

To top it off, each student reflected in writing about how their act of kindness made them feel — and the responses were heartwarming! 💙

We are so proud of these thoughtful leaders who are learning that even small acts can make a BIG difference. 💫
