There are great teachers… and then there’s Ms. Linder-Duncanson, the one and only. From the moment you meet her, you feel like you’ve known her for years. Her warmth, authenticity, and kindness make every hallway brighter and every classroom feel like home.
Ms. Linder is a powerhouse in the classroom—her mastery of social studies, her firm-but-fair approach, and her unwavering belief in her students set a standard that inspires excellence. She holds students to high expectations and then walks beside them every step of the way to help them reach those goals. Her teaching is thoughtful, intentional, and deeply impactful.
But her leadership doesn’t stop at the classroom door. She’s coached multiple sports at YMS and now serves as the Head Girls’ Basketball Coach at YHS—and trust me, I would never want to play her one-on-one. She’s got serious skills! 🏀
Whether she’s being silly and self-deprecating to lift spirits, or serious and steady when students need structure, Ms. Linder shows up for everyone—every day. She’s the kind of educator who makes you better just by being around her. Her work ethic, her heart, and her commitment to our school community are unmatched.
We are beyond proud to celebrate her as our Teacher of the Year. Yulee Middle is lucky to have her. Yulee High is lucky to have her. And honestly, the whole county is better because of her.
💛 Congratulations, Ms. Linder! You deserve every bit of this recognition. Thank you for being YOU.

At our school, we believe that greatness isn’t just found in the classroom—it’s found in the quiet acts of service, the selfless gestures, and the unwavering commitment to excellence. And when we think of someone who embodies all of that and more, one name rises to the top: Ms. Teddie Skipper.
Ms. Teddie is one of the hardest working individuals on our campus. She never complains, never asks for help—in fact, she’s always looking for ways to go above and beyond to help support our students and staff. Last year, she took it upon herself to paint and beautify the trash cans outside the gymnasium, even adding our Hornets logo to them. Who goes so far to make even the trash look pretty? Ms. Teddie does.
She volunteers at dances and sporting events, and then returns the next day to ensure those spaces are spotless and ready for learning. She dresses up for spirit days, brings joy to our halls, and even makes personalized rice heating pads for staff members—just because she cares.
When we needed someone to step up and lead our custodial team, we knew exactly who to ask. Ms. Teddie is not only a team player—she’s a leader, a role model, and a cornerstone of our school community.
We are incredibly proud to honor her as our Staff of the Year. This recognition is more than deserved—it’s a celebration of a woman whose heart, hustle, and humility make our school a better place every single day.
💛 Congratulations, Ms. Teddie! We love you and are so grateful for all you do. #StaffOfTheYear #HornetPride #ChallengeAccepted #WeLoveMsTeddie

Two of our most awesome humans on campus—Ms. Porter and Ms. Simmons—have teamed up to create an unforgettable educational experience for our students!
As part of our study on early colonization, students are diving deep into the mysteries of Roanoke (the lost colony) and the resilience of Jamestown (the first successful English colony). These colonies faced enormous challenges—disease, hunger, and survival—and our students are exploring what made one vanish and the other endure.
To enrich this learning, we visited Ms. Porter’s incredible pop-up museum in the media center, where students examined how communities throughout history have responded to deadly diseases. This real-world connection helps students better understand the hardships those early colonists might have faced.
Next up: students will tackle DBQs and write essays comparing Roanoke and Jamestown, incorporating insights from the museum to answer the big question—what makes a colony successful?
This is what powerful, interdisciplinary learning looks like. 👏👏 Huge thanks to Ms. Porter and Ms. Simmons for bringing history to life and helping our students think critically and creatively!

A little while ago we witnessed something truly remarkable. When a student experienced a sudden and scary allergic reaction, our incredible Ms. Luna and Ms. Morgan sprang into action with calm, swift precision. Thanks to their quick thinking and the rapid response of Nassau’s outstanding EMS Team, the situation was handled with care and expertise.
Because of their efforts, our student—known for her cheerful personality—was back in class the very next day, laughing and learning with her friends. 💛
Moments like these remind us how lucky we are to have such dedicated professionals in our school and community. As parents, we know it can be stressful sending your child to school—but knowing we have people like Ms. Luna, Ms. Morgan, and our EMS partners looking out for every child makes all the difference.
👏 Big shout-outs to these everyday heroes. Thank you for your courage, compassion, and commitment to keeping our students safe.
