Dr. Tara Middleton

Dr. Tara Middleton is entering her 13th year in education as the proud Principal of Yulee Middle School.  Her personal academic career includes a dual-degree in Biology and Secondary Science Education from the University of Connecticut, a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Connecticut, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Central Florida. 

Dr. Middleton began teaching in Daytona Beach, Florida at Mainland High School as a Biology and Marine Science Teacher.  She then transferred to David C. Hinson Middle School where she taught seventh and eighth grade Comprehensive Science and fell in love with the middle school age group.  She was then called to serve as an Instructional Coach for science back at Mainland High School for the next several years.  Her first administrative role began in Orange City, Florida as a Dean of Students at University High School.  Upon moving to Nassau County in the summer of 2019, Dr. Middleton was appointed as the Assistant Principal for Yulee Middle School, where she has served ever since.

Dr. Middleton lives in Nassau County with her husband.  She enjoys spending time immersed in the natural beauty of Nassau with her dog, Hana.  She is steadfast in her commitment to the families of Yulee to build up strong children and educators in a way that brings joy, purpose, and passion for the journey ahead.
