KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION
NASSAU COUNTY SCHOOLS
2023-2024
Registration for students in kindergarten for the 2023-2024 school year will be held at Bryceville Elementary, Callahan Elementary, Hilliard Elementary, Southside Elementary, Wildlight Elementary and Yulee Primary Schools April 24 – 28, 2023. Parents may use their private physician to meet immunization and health examination requirements.

Compulsory Attendance: All children who have attained the age of six (6) years or who will have attained the age of six (6) years by February 1st of any school year are required to attend school regularly during the entire school term.
Kindergarten: A child five (5) years old on or before September 1, 2023, may be admitted any time during the school year.
First Grade: A child six (6) years old on or before September 1, 2023, shall be admitted any time during the school year if the child has satisfactorily completed kindergarten. Transfer students must meet minimum promotion standards required in the Nassau County Pupil Progression Plan.
INFORMATION REQUIRED TO COMPLETE REGISTRATION WILL INCLUDE:
- A birth certificate
- A health examination certificate by a private physician within 1 year of enrollment date
- A certified DH 680 Immunization form for the Polio Series (IPV), Measles/Mumps/Rubella (MMR), Diptheria/Tetanus/Pertussis (DtaP), Tetanus/Pertussis Booster 7th grade (Tdap), Varicella (chickenpox), and Hepatitis B (Hep B).
- Child’s Social Security Card.
- Proof of residency. (Example, Lease agreement, utility bill, etc.)
IMMUNIZATIONS: Parents should get their child’s shots with their physician if they have private insurance or Medicaid. For those without insurance, shots are provided through the Florida Department of Health, Nassau County for children birth to 18 years of age through a Federal Vaccine for Children Program. Parents must make an appointment and bring their child’s up-to-date shot record to help identify needed shots and prevent unnecessary shots for their child. We will also provide parents with a required Proof of Immunization Form 680 if needed. We must have an up-to-date shot record to provide a 680 form. PARENTS SHOULD CALL AT THE EARLIEST POSSIBLE TIME DUE TO LIMITED APPOINTMENTS.
OUT OF STATE transfers may drop off their immunization record to the clinics for the transfer of immunizations to a DH 680 immunization form. This process can take up to 5 days to complete.
